Home Asset Inventory

If your home was destroyed, damaged or vandalized, could you recall from memory, all of your possessions?  For each of those items, could you recall when and where they were purchased, the cost, the manufacturer, model and serial number?

A documented inventory prepares you emotionally and financially if any type of damage or loss were to occur to your home and personal possessions.

Be prepared emotionally.
It is hard enough to deal with any type of damage or loss to your home.  With a completed AIS home asset inventory in hand, you can immediately focus on rebuilding your life and replacing your possessions, instead of suffering through the added stress or trauma of trying to remember what items you owned and looking for ways to prove ownership and value.
Be prepared financially.
You are ahead financially when you are prepared with a documented inventory.  You can immediately provide to the insurance adjuster all the required information to begin the claims process which, in turn, affects how quickly you will receive the insurance reimbursement.  In addition, you will be able to provide proof of ownership and value which will ensure your reimbursement will cover the full extent of the loss.

Additional benefits of a Home Inventory:

Collectors:
  • Items that have limited coverage such as jewelry, coins, figurines, guns and art are identified and additional coverage (rider) can be purchased so that the items will be insured for the full value.
  • An inventory includes crucial information which aids in the recovery of stolen property.
Estate Planning:
  • The inventory list includes beneficiary designation and contact information for each item which ensures assets are distributed according to your wishes.
  • The probate process is simplified, faster and less stressful because all the required information is clearly defined.
  • It serves as a valuable resource for estate sales and auctions.
Financial Planning:
  • Since it is a complete list of personal assets, it can be used for loan applications or determining your net worth.
  • Assists with securing an accurate appraisal of your home as it documents home improvement projects which provides proof of the added value to your home.
  • Supplements pre-nuptial and divorce agreements.
Moving/Storage:
  • Protects your possessions during a move or when items need to be stored because you have the detailed descriptions and photos to prove the condition of the items prior to the move, in case a claim needs to be filed.
Hobbies:
  • An inventory protects the financial investment you have put into your hobby - whether you are a skier, biker, boater or someone who enjoys working on cars and has a large inventory of tools.  You could immediately provide the description of the items including proof of ownership and value, which determines how quickly you could purchase new equipment and begin enjoying your hobby again.
Cabins:
  • Provides the same protection to your cabin as it does to your home.
Our Guarantee To You
Beginning with your initial phone call and through the storage of your data, all conversations and information will be confidential and protected.  We are Licensed, Bonded and Insured and will sign a Letter of Confidentiality before we begin the inventory.  Prior to the inventory, we will meet with you to review the sample portfolio so you can see what the final product looks like and review in detail how the inventory appointment will go.
On average, you can expect an inventory to take 4-5 hours and will schedule this appointment to accommodate your busy schedule.  Your completed portfolio will be delivered to you within a week.
Associates Inventory Service will present your documented inventory in a handsome 3-ring portfolio with zipper.  The portfolio contains two versions of the printed reports, and a CD / DVD that contain all versions of the written reports, digital photos, video footage, and the scanned receipts and/or documents.
Renewal
Once your inventory is complete, it is important to keep it up-to-date.  For one year after your initial inventory, there are no additional charges to add or update and store your data.  After that, there will be a yearly fee to update and store your inventory documents.
Gift Certifcates
Need a gift for a special someone in your family, a close friend or someone you want to extend a special "thank you," to?  What better gift - than the gift of protection and peace of mind.  We can mail this to you or directly to the recipient - in a greeting card of your choice.  Please contact us for further information or to place an order.
